Secretarial Skills (General Office Administration) Course
This Course covers the skills and knowledge required to prepare an individual to perform effectively in a work environment.
It includes:
- Planning, time and workflow management
- Office professionalism, reception skills and telephone etiquette
- Managing instructions and establish and maintain working relationships
- Social skills, professionalism and communication
- Assertiveness, stress management and people skills
Entry level skills
After completion of the course, individuals will have the necessary entry level skills to be employed as anyone of the following:
- Executive Secretary (Secretary to senior Executives)
- Team Secretary
- Personal/Secretarial Assistant
- Junior Secretary
- Audio Typist
- File/Stock/Mailroom/Office Clerk
- Office Assistant
- Accounts Clerk
- Switchboard Operator
- Receptionist
- Data Entry Clerk/Computer Operator
- Human Resource Personnel

Additionally, the students are given an opportunity to sit CSEC Social Studies, Office Administration, EDPM, English Language and Mathematics examinations. Students in this program are eligible to receive industry recognized certification through the Antigua and Barbuda National Training Agency (ABNTA) upon successful completion of the course along with an ABICE TVET Certificate.
